I occasionally write + speak about remote work, managing remotely, and onboarding into remote teams.

Onboarding remote engineers.
A series for remote engineering managers in small organizations.
If you google “How do I onboard a new team member?”, you’ll find many onboarding checklists, and many of them are actually quite good… you may even find some recommendations about “team building” and “fun activities”. What you usually don’t see out there are the small details that make or break an onboarding process, why they matter, and how to make them work. Even less common is to find useful content for new managers in remote teams.
I’m trying to help fix that.
